We switched to Skinny 4G home broadband several years ago when Vodafone wanted to hike the price for our fibre broadband. They were good for ages, no problems until our nice $39/month plan stopped being for sale (became a 'legacy' plan). The T&C's distinctly say we can stay on that plan as long as we want. 3 times they have subtly tried to kick us off it by mucking up our card payment then saying you'll need to sign up to a new plan (i.e pay us more!). Either their auto-bill
ing system has lots of problems or they have a very dodgy practice for removing low-profit legacy customers. I'm guessing lots of telco's are the same though. The supplied modem-router is still working perfectly, it slows down every 6 weeks or so but you just reboot it.
Support chat & account page on their website still works if the broadband is cut off due to non-payment, which is very helpful in the situation. ...read more
